Late Fall: Frigid air but no ice in the ground yet

  • It's Late Fall when the last leaves fall and freezes begin. Most herbaceous plants have been killed by frigid air but the ground is not yet frozen

Late fall is still fine for planting, transplanting and just about everything else. Those of us in zone 5 and colder start a late fall day pretty wrapped up but quickly shed layers as work and the day warm up.
